Role: Machine Shop Manager

Location: Hammersmith

GPS are recruiting for an experienced CNC workshop manager. As Machine Shop Manager you will be fundamental in ensuring components are produced on time, correct quality and within budget for the gun manufacture, whether that be for Customer orders or new development projects. The role manages a small team working across CAM, CNC Machinists and Stores (stock holding).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of the CAM team and workload prioritisation
  • Management of the Machine Shop Team for CNC programme creation, scheduling and production
  • Management of the Gun parts inventory and replenishment
  • Management of Raw material stock holding and replenishment
  • Working closely with the Production Manager to deliver products for customers in a timely manner
  • Working closely with the Technical Manager to deliver new concepts and advancements in innovation
  • Implement, monitor and improve KPIs

Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential
  • Excellent organizational skills within a factory environment.
  • Proven track record in planning and scheduling.
  • Experience in managing a small and passionate team.
  • Ability to work cross functionally to achieve the goals of the business.
  • Familiarity in Microsoft office.
  • Ability to efficiently meet all deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Preferrable experience in 3 & 5 axis machines
  • Preferrable experience in Solidworks CAD/CAM software
