The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within a world-renowned higher education institute offering a range of MBA, Executive MA and other Postgraduate programmes, recognised for it's academic excellence, research and strong industry connections.

You will play a key role in supporting faculty in their research and teaching through the development and delivery of the strategic plan. You will provide operational support to the Chair in delivering the plan, as well as administrative leadership of a team of 3 faculty assistants. You will collaborate across all subject areas and programme offices to ensure that a culture of continuous improvement is embedded.

This is a full-time, Monday - Friday (35 hours per week), 12-month contract. For the first three months, you will be fully based on campus to collaborate with your team and key stakeholders. Following this period, you will be expected to attend the office three days a week, with flexibility for additional days when required for business needs, such as events.

This HE provider is based in the West End.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a team of faculty assistants to deliver the operational plans within subject area.
  • Ensure team are aware of and comply with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Define and communicate the team's priorities and workload, in line with the wider Departmental priorities
  • Contribute to the development of broader operational plans, manage operational plans in own area and enable successful implementation by prioritising and aligning planned activities.
  • Prepare documentation by collating data and liaising across teams to prepare complex reports to inform review, planning and decision-making.
  • Lead on the delivery of a portfolio of elective courses within their Subject Area, within budget and to quality standards and targets.
  • Oversee and monitor elective programmes to ensure compliance with relevant external bodies.

Essential experience and skills required:

  • Experience of working within higher education within an administrative or programmes role - either at senior level with leadership experience, seeking the next step in your career or, at management level.
  • Experience of leading / managing, developing and motivating a team
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with a variety of audiences
  • Able to be considered and calm when working to deadlines and under pressure
