Are you an experienced Senior Delivery Manager looking for an exciting opportunity to lead delivery projects within a Central Government organisation? Our client, a prestigious public sector organisation, is seeking a talented individual to join their team on a temporary basis.

As a Senior Delivery Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving the successful implementation of products, managing stakeholder relationships, and overseeing project planning. With your outstanding stakeholder management skills and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, you will be responsible for coordinating and optimising project plans, managing contingent labour, and tracking key performance indicators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project planning and optimise the slicing of work for efficient delivery
  • Accountable for product implementation planning and prioritisation
  • Manage the contingent labour workforce in line with contractual obligations
  • Track and report on project progress and KPIs
  • Coordinate project plans, risk assessments, and retrospective lessons
  • Drive continuous improvement and implement process enhancements
  • Manage escalations to senior leadership

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering medium to high complexity projects
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to develop strong partnerships
  • Strong skills in risk management and proactive issue anticipation
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-changing and ambiguous environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to drive and influence effectively
  • Experience leading teams in Agile and Lean practises
  • Proficiency in Agile delivery operations throughout the product life cycle
  • Advanced problem-solving, negotiation, and organisational skills

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a large public sector organisation leading end-to-end projects
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working across multiple teams in a collaborative model
  • Ability to mentor and guide teams with varying levels of expertise
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure) and tools like Jira, Kanban, Airflow, DBT
  • Experience managing third-party relationships and project budgets
