MLC Partners are working with an NHS organisation in London who is looking for a Communications and Engagement Lead. The successful candidate will work with the project teams and working groups to ensure key messages are getting to all of their key stakeholders across the Trust.

A key focus for this work will be on effectively communicating and engaging staff with their patient safety priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To develop, lead and deliver patient safety communications strategies
  • Ensure staff awareness of and alignment upcoming programmes and projects in relation to patient safety
  • Be able to turn highly complex and sensitive information into relevant, timely, engaging, and impactful content
  • To represent the communications team on key working groups. You will support stakeholders, by taking time to understand their communications needs, target audiences and help provide strategic communications focus
  • Quickly build a position as a trusted advisor to colleagues and supporting stakeholders in delivering high quality communications for our stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage colleagues with various culture and engagement programmes, using internal communications theory and best practice
  • Act as lead internal engagement consultant for key stakeholders providing specialist advice on approaches and tactics to help them deliver better internal communications, and sharing knowledge with the team to develop their skills and confidence in this area
  • Plan and manage messages and announcements, drafting copy, editing, and managing review and sign off, often dealing with highly complex facts or situations which you will be required to analyse, interpret and present a comparison of a range of options.

Skills and Experience:

  • Significant experience in internal communications within the NHS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences
  • Proven track record in stakeholder engagement and building relationships with a wide range of audiences
  • Previous experience of developing and delivering internal communications strategies and communications
  • Experience of working in fast-paced environments, handling multiple priorities and tight deadlines.

This role is considered inside IR35. Full or part time working is available, but you must be required to start at short notice. NHS experience is essential.
