Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for influencing policy and driving impactful public narratives? Are you looking to set up your own team, or maybe have already set up on your own and finding being completely on your own a little less than perfect. Our client is a growing PR firm known for its dynamic approach and is now seeking a Senior Public Affairs Specialist to join the team and grow and develop their fledgling Public Affairs offering

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Business: Develop existing client relationship to extend the public affairs offering. Actively seek new business, run pitches and secure Public Affairs projects.
  • Client Leadership: Guide and manage public affairs campaigns for high-profile clients across sectors including [list specific industries as applicable]. Build and nurture trusted relationships with clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute innovative strategies to achieve client objectives, influencing public opinion, policy, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, regulatory agencies, industry influencers, and community leaders.
  • Policy Expertise: Stay ahead of policy and legislative developments that impact clients’ interests. Provide insightful analysis and strategic recommendations.
  • Crisis and Issue Management: Advise clients in navigating complex issues, developing rapid responses, and managing media and public scrutiny.

Qualifications:

  • Proven Experience: 7-10+ years in public affairs, public policy, government relations, or a related field. Agency experience is essential
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional writing, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Networked: Established connections within government, industry groups, or advocacy circles.
  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to think both tactically and strategically to deliver high-impact outcomes.
  • Leadership Ability: Passion for mentoring, collaborating, and setting the standard for excellence.
