My client in Greater London is looking to appoint a talented Assistant Director for Community Safety, Resilience & CCTV on a Contract basis.

The role will provide strategic leadership and management to all services within the Community Safety Service for the Council.

About the role:

Based in Greater London (Hybrid):

  • To make a significant contribution to the leadership and senior management of the Environment Division, its strategic and operational responsibilities, culture, staff, processes and standards in accordance with council policies and values.
  • To chair the Safety Advisory Groups for the boroughs three football clubs ensuring that all safety requirements are met, addressed and escalated where needed.
  • Translate the Councils priorities and objectives into the Place Department's Overall Business Plan.
  • Provide expert and professional advice to the Director (Public Realm), Strategic Director (Place), Chief Executive and Members, engaging with Cabinet, partners and colleagues to deliver the Council's strategic vision

About you:You will have the following experiences:

  • Significant experience in a similar role, in a Local Authority context.
  • Good understanding of local government strategy, legislation and finance, national policy agenda and performance framework
  • Experience of partnership working with senior stakeholders and politicians within local government and the public sector
  • Experience of managing resources to achieve maximum efficiency and effectiveness, particularly in crisis situations.

What's on offer:

  • Salary: £600-£700 per day, inside IR35
