Communications Improvement Officer - The Opportunity

We are recruiting for a Communications Officer to join our Improvement team, which works to set and monitor performance standards for Electoral Administrators and to address challenges around local authority resilience and capacity. This is a new role within the team which will provide comprehensive communications and engagement support.

You will play a key role in ensuring our stakeholders have the information they need to deliver well run elections, as well as helping us to gather evidence from stakeholders to help us identify challenges and areas of good practice.

It's an exciting time to join the team as we work towards a new 5 year corporate plan being launched in 2025.

Communications Improvement Officer – Key Responsibilities

- Oversee communications to internal and external stakeholders to inform them about our work

- Administer the collection and collation of engagement data to support the monitoring of performance standards and to enable us to assess preparation for electoral events

- Co-ordinate consultation activities for the team on various improvement initiatives

- Lead plans, organisation and administration of meetings, events, team activities and intranet pages to maintain connectivity and engagement across the team

Communications Improvement Officer - What We’re Looking For

- Excellent verbal and written communications with the ability to distil complex information into clear and accessible formats (both text and numerical)

- Experienced in tailoring information to suit different audiences

- Comfortable building stakeholder relationships

- Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage simultaneous projects

- Maintain enthusiasm and meticulous attention to detail in fast-paced settings

- Strong Problem solving and analytical abilities

- Experience working in a public or third sector organisation is desirable
