Murray McIntosh is delighted to be working with CropLife UK, who are seeking a Communications Officer to join their small team.

CropLife UK is the leading trade association for the UK crop solutions sector, championing the role of science and innovation in protecting food crops, parks, gardens, roads, and public infrastructure. We represent companies involved in the development of plant protection products (PPPs), biopesticides, agricultural biotechnology, and digital agriculture technologies. Our mission is to support sustainable farming practices and improve public spaces across the country.

They are seeking a junior communications candidate to contribute to our communication activities and provide crucial business support across the organisation. This is a unique opportunity for a junior candidate to work closely with senior leaders and play an integral role in engagement with members, stakeholders, and the wider sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Communications:

  • Support the Head of External Affairs in editing the weekly member newsletter and managing website content.
  • Coordinate the production of external publications and internal documents.
  • Assist with governance and board-related activities, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

Business Support:

  • Manage the meeting and events schedule to ensure smooth coordination of all activities.
  • Assist with member engagement by organising meeting logistics, preparing content, and ensuring effective communication.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with CropLife UK members and key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to research activities supporting CropLife UK's objectives.

Essential Criteria:

  • Communications experience, ideally broadly across both digital marketing and written, thought pieces.
  • Strong ability to work flexibly within a small, dynamic team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • An interest in the environment, sustainability production and a commitment to supporting the sector.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge of farming, food production, or environmental issues.
