A leading non-profit organisation is looking for a Communications and Engagement Officer to join their team on an interim contract. In this role you will be responsible for delivering high-quality communications, enhancing profile, supporting events, and collaborating with partners to maximise impact.

Job responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor social media channels, creating and publishing engaging content
  • Write and distribute newsletters and email bulletins, collaborating with the wider team
  • Develop and edit online content, including blog posts, to support project communications
  • Maintain and update the website, ensuring content is current, accessible, and aligned with strategic objectives
  • Coordinate with communications teams to amplify key messages across multiple platforms
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the impact and reach of research outputs through digital channels
  • Work closely with web and broadcast teams to ensure brand consistency and effective content delivery
  • Contribute to the successful implementation of the organisation’s digital engagement strategy
  • Monitor social media, website and event metrics
  • Drive collaboration and coordination with partner organisations on communications and brand alignment

Person specification:

  • Strong editorial experience, including copywriting, editing, and proofreading, ensuring alignment with house style and referencing standards
  • Proven experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating communications campaigns
  • Experience managing social media platforms to share written content, ideally academic reports or research outputs
  • Proficiency in content management systems, with experience in writing newsletters and other marketing materials
  • Familiarity with web and social media analytics, with the ability to monitor and interpret website, social media, and event metrics

Annual salary: £39,000

Location: London

Contract length: until the end of March 2025 (potential to extend)

Hybrid working: 2 days per week on site
