The National Library is seeking a proactive and organised Junior Press Officer to join our team on a temporary basis with the opportunity for the role to become permanent. The role is ideal for someone with a keen interest in arts or culture and the ideal candidate will have some experience working within the press / media.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Coordinating various activities, such as organising the filming of documentaries and other media-related events.
  • Administering and managing media enquiries and the press inbox efficiently.
  • Assisting with the creation and distribution of press materials and communications.
  • Supporting the press team with daily tasks and contributing to the development of press strategies.
  • Maintaining and updating media contact lists and databases.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills.
  • Proactive approach to tasks and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A strong desire to work in the arts or cultural sector.
  • Some experience in media or press is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
