Senior Quantity Surveyor

Working for a Tier 1 contractor, Supporting a Commercial Manager in delivering a scheme for Network Rail

Location: Network Rail offices - London & Kent

Duration: 9 months (Working in the office 3 days a week depending on meetings, 2 days a week from home)

Pay rate: £450 per day (Outside of IR35)

Role Description:

This role requires an experienced Quantity Surveyor to work on a large 20million Rail scheme based in Kent. Reporting into the Commercial Manager you will be the running the scheme from a Commercial aspect on a day-to-day basis supported by a Quantity Surveyor on site.

Due to the nature of the work you will need to have worked on Network Rail project previously so you are up to speed with their contracts and stakeholder management.

The day-to-day responsibilities will vary as you will be on site 3 days a week and home-based 2 days a week. Working closely with the Project Manager leading the scheme and managing any variations that may occur. As this is the start of the project your role will vary but could include any of the following: -

  • Ensure robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting for the project.
  • Creating accurate cash flow reports
  • Help ensure that commercial processes are adhered for the project and business.
  • Using or improving the existing supply chain so they are engaged appropriately with the correct contract terms and conditions
  • Excellent communication between internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Maintaining deadlines in line with monthly commercial targets and reports.

Required Experience:

  • A Qualification be it HNC / HND or full Degree ideally in Quantity Surveying or other related subject.
  • Supported by experience as a Quantity Surveyor on Network Rail schemes
