Sonic Summary

info
  • Our client is a well-established regional PQS business with over 100 employees, seeking a competent PQS surveyor for their boutique London office.
  • The role involves working closely with the principal QS on various PQS tasks and offers mentorship for those pursuing their APC.
  • Candidates must have a UK awarded degree in Quantity Surveying and at least three years of PQS cost consultancy experience.
  • The salary package is up to £60k plus benefits, depending on experience, with a start date at the end of October or early November.
  • The company values work/life balance, allowing for remote work up to two days a week, but cannot support candidates requiring UK working eligibility or visa applications.

Our client is a long established, regional PQS business, employing over 100 staff. Its London office is a boutique branch: it's small, perfectly formed, with a certain ‘je ne sais quoi', employing both talented PM's & QS's. It continues to outperform its peers (per capita) and it's currently seeking a devilishly good & competent PQS surveyor to come and join in the fun!

Based in the City of London, you'd be working directly with the office's principal QS on all things ‘PQS' – from the very first steps to kissing projects goodbye! If necessary, you can be closely mentored by them too; this is an expert in the field with a track record of guiding young surveyors through their APC.

The company's project exposure punches high. It's dominated by some outstanding industrial property clients. These are not all London-based, so anyone applying must have a UK driving licence and preferably the use of a vehicle. Client relationships are becoming increasingly engrained in the Arts & Heritage sector, where it's ensconced in bespoke & complex projects for renowned galleries & nationally historic buildings. Ever the curious bunch, the company is consistently tasked to find new sites for its clients as well. Getting those decisions right is an absolute must, so adept cost planning skills are required, and any Bluebeam experience would be a real advantage too.

The importance of work / life balance is recognised and there is excellent working flexibility which allows for up to 2 days a week to be based remotely - client & work dependent.

Here's the boring bit but finding the right person to nail this role is important too! Candidates wanting to apply must have a UK awarded degree in Quantity Surveying (either MSc or BSc) and a minimum of three years of specific PQS cost consultancy experience. MRICS isn't essential but it'd be the cherry on top.

Salary packages: to £60k + bens (depending on experience).

Seeking start date of end of October / early November.

Lastly, please don't all apply at once! It's a nightmare to manage.

NB. Unfortunately our client is unable to support those candidates requiring UK working eligibility or VISA application / support.
