An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor on a fit-out construction project in Kensington, London. My client is at the forefront of this high-end development and has a reputation for driving innovation and excellence throughout their projects.
As a Project/Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of an exciting project in one of London's most dynamic locations along with scope to work on other high-profile projects in the future. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the commercial and contractual aspects of a package of work across the project, ensuring cost control, and maximizing profitability. Utilising your expertise with contracts, you will provide strategic guidance and support to the project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Senior Quantity Surveyor (Commercial Lead) and the rest of the team to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of the project in hand.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets, monitor costs, and manage financial reporting.
  • Procurement and management of subcontractors whilst ensuring costs fall within pre-agreed budgeting.
  • Provide expert advice on contractual matters and dispute resolution.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure efficient contract administration and compliance.
  • Lead procurement activities, including tendering and contract negotiation.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets, monitor costs, and manage financial reporting.
  • Analyse project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.


Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a similar construction environment
  • Degree / HND qualification in Quantity Surveying or another relevant subject.
  • Registered with the RICS / CICES and/or working towards professional chartership - preferable
  • Excellent working knowledge of standard forms of contract (NEC & JCT) and standard methods of measurements
  • Commercial astute with notable experience working on multimillion building construction projects.
