Role Responsibilities:

  • NEC3 Contract management and administration upstream and downstream
  • Establish and manage entitlement, with focus on maximising entitlement under the contract
  • Investigate and draft contract communications and notices including Early Warning Notices, notification of Compensation Events, General Communications
  • Liaison and negotiation with the Client's Commercial and/or project team
  • Establishing and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure appropriate commercial records are maintained in line with the contract requirements and oversee any contractual issues
  • Provide contractual and commercial risk advice to the Commercial team and wider Technical and Construction Delivery teams
  • Contribute to project financial monitoring and reporting
  • Administration of subcontractor and supplier contracts including EWNs, change, payments, forecasts and through to final account
  • The quantity surveyor will lead the review and valuation of subcontractor applications for payment in accordance with contractual terms and conditions and contractual entitlement
  • Manage, monitor and report on commercial and cost reporting aspects of allocated projects and portfolio of works including CVRs and cost control
  • Support the programme and project teams to ensure full compliance with contract and corporate governance rules

Qualifications and must-haves for candidates

Desirable

  • Educated to degree level
  • MEP experience
  • Main contractor and/or joint venture experience
  • An experienced user of the NEC3-4 suite of contracts (A-C-E must have)
  • Experienced in controlling costs for self delivery works
  • Exposure to negotiating and procuring sub-contract packages (Design-Delivery-Commission), testing the robustness of costs and value for money.
  • Able to prioritise the delivery of the objectives of their role
  • Good communication skills
