Our client is a leading provider of logistics services to the construction industry. They specialise in delivering efficient and cost-effective solutions to their clients, ensuring that construction projects are completed on time and within budget. As they continue to expand their operations, they are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team and contribute to the success of their projects.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success and cost-efficiency of projects. You will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, managing budgets, and minimising expenses while maintaining the highest quality standards. Your expertise will be vital in helping to deliver exceptional logistics services to construction industry clients.

What's in it for you?

  • £55,000 - £65,000
  • Monday to Friday (8am - 6pm with 1 hour lunch break. Or 8am - 5pm with 30-minute lunch break).
  • 5 days in office with visits on site when needed.
  • 28 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays) and as of next year plus a day for each year worked.
  • Office based + travel to sites in London and the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage costs for a variety of scaffolding and building projects, including cost analysis for construction and logistics work.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while liaising professionally with clients and consultants at all levels.
  • Prepare and analyse tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities and costings.
  • Place subcontractor orders with line manager approval and process payments for the supply chain.
  • Produce financial reports, such as cost value reconciliations, and assist with administrative duties.
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to achieving collective targets and goals.
  • Assist the Director and Contract Manager with tasks and ensure accurate monitoring and recording of staffing hours with Contract and Site Managers.
  • Travel to project sites as required and perform any other necessary duties for your role and the company's needs.
  • Support in the preparation of tender submissions and manage associated documentation.

Role Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor from a Logistics background or if not construction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with general IT knowledge
  • Willing to travel to sites around London and other surrounding areas.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in quantity take-off software and construction cost estimating tools.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
