Motor Team Leader - City of London (Hybrid)

We are partnering with a well-established insurance firm in the City of London to find a Motor Team Leader to lead the development and growth of their motor business. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of the motor underwriting team and operations.

The Role:

As a Motor Team Leader, you will work closely with senior management to develop the motor business, establish operational processes, and build strong relationships with brokers, manufacturers, and dealerships. You will also oversee the motor underwriting team and lead key projects to ensure business success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior management to plan and grow the motor business and underwriting team.
  • Design and implement operations processes for the private motor business.
  • Develop and maintain strong networks with brokers, manufacturers, and dealerships.
  • Underwrite personal motor risks, including designing systems, guidelines, and authority levels.
  • Lead motor-related projects, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
  • Manage and mentor the motor underwriting team.
  • Liaise with Claims, Finance, IT, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support business objectives.

Essential:

  • Proven experience in setting up motor business operations and underwriting teams.
  • Strong business development expertise with broking or dealership networks in the private motor.
  • Solid background in motor underwriting and team management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently to deliver results.
  • Strong organisational skills to complete tasks and projects within deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Degree-level education or Dip CII qualification (or higher).
  • Familiarity with the electric vehicles sector.
