Director of Spa Surrenne

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Spa to lead and manage the operations, performance, and administration of Surrenne. In this key role, you will take full responsibility for guest satisfaction, product quality, operational efficiency, and staffing. You will also oversee the financial performance of the spa, maximising revenue and profitability through strategic planning and robust management.

Main responsibilities of theDirector of Sparole include but are not limited to:

  • Evolve and refine the Surrenne concept to continually enhance guest experiences.
  • Collaborate with departments at The Berkeley and The Emory to ensure a seamless, high-quality guest experience across all aspects of the hotels.
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing department to develop and implement effective spa marketing initiatives.
  • Regularly review competitor offerings and stay informed about industry trends both locally and globally.
  • Develop and apply specialist knowledge of health and wellness trends to inform spa operations and guest offerings.
  • Lead the onboarding of new team members, including departmental and hotel inductions, and ensure continuous colleagues development through training, performance appraisals, and mentoring.
  • Manage recruitment, selection, and scheduling to ensure the right team is in place and operational needs are met. This includes overseeing rotas, holidays, and ensuring compliance with working time regulations.
  • Take direction from the Global Head of Wellness and Longevity regarding overall strategy and operational direction.
  • Regularly forecast and adjust strategies in response to anticipated trends in wellness and hospitality.
  • Analyse monthly profit and loss statements and develop action plans to address variances, while driving revenue and profitability in line with the annual budget.
  • Foster a positive team culture, ensuring open communication, collaboration, and high standards of service across the department.
  • Lead and motivate Surrenne team to uphold hotel standards, ensuring exceptional guest service and satisfaction.
  • Develop and execute a marketing plan to drive spa membership and manage member inquiries, including organising social and networking events to enhance engagement.
  • Promote retail product sales by ensuring team proficiency in product knowledge and upselling techniques.
  • Coordinate with Food and Beverage departments to meet the spa's culinary and beverage needs.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance profitability through effective diary management, cost control, and upselling.
  • work with Human Resources to support recruitment, recognition, retention, and team development efforts, including succession planning.
  • Partner with the Learning and Development team to ensure comprehensive training strategies, including cross-training and leadership development.
  • Adhere to the Maybourne Colleague Handbook, promoting best practices and fostering strong internal team relations.
