Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Recruitment Officer for a Local Authority Client based in East London.

In this role, you will lead and coordinate the recruitment process for the Children and Families Service, ensuring efficient, inclusive, and transparent recruitment practices while supporting the development of a diverse and skilled workforce.

About the role:

You will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives:

  • Oversee and coordinate all recruitment activities for the Children and Families Service, ensuring fairness, transparency, and compliance with council policies.
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies, manage staff induction, and evaluate the impact of recruitment activities with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
  • Build strong relationships with senior managers and HR, resolving recruitment issues and continuously improving processes.
  • Lead and supervise a small team, ensuring effective performance, compliance with relevant policies, and the development of team members.

About you:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

  • Experience coordinating and managing recruitment processes, including job advertisements, shortlisting, interviewing, and assessments.
  • Experience in handling recruitment-related issues and implementing improvements in recruitment practices.
  • Experience with e-recruitment systems and software for managing recruitment workflows.
  • Experience in evaluating the impact of recruitment activities and identifying areas for improvement.

What's on offer:

Salary: £24+ph

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6, months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
