Model Frameworks and Guidelines SpecialistLocation: UK, LondonLength: 6 monthsRate: £42.31 p/h (Inside IR35)Hours: 9am – 6pm (Hybrid, 3 days onsite)Role
  • Deliver a research project, with minimal assistance that is either standalone research, or is integrated into overarching projects
  • Key contributor to research, owning some or all of the technical details
  • May publish papers in top-tier venues or contribute ideas to our clients products under the appropriate approvals of leadership
  • Plan and execute prioritized project work, to most effectively achieve project objectives and research impact
Responsibilities:
  • Author research papers to share and generate impact of research results across the team and in the research community
  • Help in growing research business across teams by sharing research trends and best practices within the community
  • Define the data structure, framework, design, and evaluation metrics for research solution development and implementation under minimal guidance. Identify timelines and obtain resources needed
  • Identify new and upcoming research areas by interacting with potential external and internal collaborators.
  • Help in developing a long-term research strategy and plans to expand the impact of our clients research with some guidance
  • Contribute to conducting experiments based on the research question
  • Develop research prototypes or conduct simulations to further evaluate the impact of research, finalize hypotheses, and refine the research methodology under minimal guidance
  • Identify, develop, and refine research questions across the team. Provide feedback to translate questions or ideas from stakeholders into attainable research questions and validate research questions through proof-of-concept discussions
Skill Set:
  • Ability to extract relevant information from reading code in one or more core languages and frameworks, including the ability to leverage the code as a resource to create work output for users or stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze information, draw conclusions, generate alternatives and solutions, and evaluate outcomes. This includes the ability to use data to add value to business planning and strategies
  • Ability to be recognized as an effective authority and to judge the technical merits of research, or the ability to shape external research practices
  • Knowledge of programming languages. This includes programming practices, major features and capabilities, and system management tools
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for defining and structuring engineering domains or specialist field-relevant topics. This includes the ability to adapt research methods to the appropriate domain or topics
  • Ability to develop an understanding of scientific and technological areas aligned with one's domain expertise and our client's organizational goals. This includes the ability to apply a research skillset to keep up with the scientific developments and current and future trends that affect one's area of focus
  • Master's degree or PhD, or equivalent experience, in a relevant field, such as philosophy, ethics, computer science, social sciences, or public policy Developed experience in AI ethics, AI policy, or a related field
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Experience working within interdisciplinary teams
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts and ideas simply to a range of collaborators
  • Ability to think critically and creatively about complex ethical issues
  • Strong understanding of the latest developments in AI ethics and safety
