Program Manager (Sustainability)Location: UK, LondonLength: 6 monthsRate: £37.50 p/h (Inside IR35)Hours: 9 am – 6 pm (Onsite 3 days per week)Overview:We are looking for an experienced Program Manager to oversee the successful execution of cross-functional projects within our organization. In this role, you will be responsible for organizing and managing the activities that lead to the outcomes of a project, ensuring timely delivery, aligning stakeholders, and managing risks. You will play a key role in managing project dependencies and identifying areas for continuous improvement to enhance processes, products, and services.Key Areas:
  • Project Management: Organize and manage the activities involved in the execution of projects, ensuring the "what, who, when, and how" are clearly defined
  • Schedule and Resource Management: Adjust project levers (e.g., schedule, staffing, features) to meet project deadlines and deliver results
  • Progress and Risk Monitoring: Continuously monitor and communicate project progress, potential risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Align and engage stakeholders on decisions and evolving circumstances to maintain consensus throughout the project lifecycle
  • Dependency and Deliverable Management: Proactively manage dependencies with other teams, projects, and functions to ensure timely and coordinated delivery
  • Continuous Improvement: Establish systems to track and measure performance, identifying areas for ongoing process and product/service improvements
Responsibilities:
  • Collaboration with Teams: The program manager will work closely with the research and engineering teams to help accelerate both research and delivery roadmaps for the program
  • Project Oversight: The program manager will oversee up to three projects concurrently, collaborating with other program managers to ensure progress
  • Program-wide Operations: The role will also involve supporting broader operations across the program
Key Projects/Initiatives:
  • Multi-Project Management: Overseeing multiple projects (up to three) across different teams while ensuring each project aligns with overall program goals
  • Program-Wide Operations Support: Managing or helping manage operations at the program level, ensuring smooth execution across the board
Top 3 Hard Skills:
  1. Project Planning: Ability to create and manage project plans effectively using tools like Google Sheets
  2. Previous Experience at Google: Familiarity with Google’s systems and culture is preferred
  3. Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of AI, particularly within the context of sustainability initiatives
