Restaurant Manager Michelin-Starred Neighbourhood Restaurant
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated, guest-focused Restaurant Manager to lead our Michelin-starred neighbourhood restaurant. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating extraordinary dining experiences and building lasting relationships with guests. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will ensure a seamless operation, overseeing employee development, and maintain our exceptional standards of hospitality. Your role will be pivotal in elevating guest satisfaction, managing inventory, training and contributing to the restaurants financial success.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience Leadership
- Deliver Exceptional Service: Ensure every guest enjoys a personalised, memorable and elevated dining experience that reflects the prestige of a Michelin-starred restaurant.
- Build Relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with regular and new guests, anticipating their preferences and exceeding their expectations.
- Handle Feedback: Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, using feedback to continuously enhance service.
- Host Excellence: Act as the face of the restaurant, welcoming guests warmly and ensuring they feel valued throughout their visit.
Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service flow and alignment with Michelin standards, striving for the next steps.
- Partner with the kitchen team to ensure perfect harmony between food preparation, presentation, and service.
- Maintain an inviting atmosphere, from cleanliness to ambiance, enhancing the overall guest experience. Assisting with maintenance where needed.
Employee Training and Development
- Develop and implement comprehensive training plans focused on service excellence and guest interaction.
- Conduct regular training sessions to ensure all staff are knowledgeable about the menu, wine pairings, and Michelin-starred service protocols.
- Mentor team members, fostering our culture of hospitality, teamwork, and professionalism.
- Ability to write rotas, approve holidays and communicate with the teams accordingly.
Inventory Management
- Conduct monthly stock takes of crockery, cutlery, and glassware, ensuring appropriate inventory levels for flawless service.
- Collaborate with suppliers to maintain the quality and availability of essential materials.
- Monitor and manage supply inventories to minimise waste and optimise costs.
Financial Oversight
- Participate in regular financial meetings with the Operations Director to review budgets, sales targets, and performance metrics.
- Track and analyse daily financial data, including revenue, labour costs, and inventory expenses.
- Propose and implement strategies to maximise profitability while maintaining an exceptional guest experience.
Community and Brand Promotion
- Actively promote the restaurant within the community and among potential guests, enhancing its reputation as a local gem.
- Host special events and collaborate with the marketing team to highlight the restaurants unique offerings.
Compliance and Safety
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
- Stay informed on Michelin Guide requirements and industry best practices to uphold the restaurants prestigious standing.
Requirements:
- Proven experience for at least 2 years as a Restaurant Manager, ideally within a fine dining or Michelin-starred establishment.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
- Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team development and morale.
- Knowledge in inventory management and financial oversight.
- Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Tevalis, Opentable, Workforce and Microsoft Teams (or similar platforms).
Reporting:
The Restaurant Manager will report directly to the Operations Director and collaborate closely with the Head Chef, Head of beverage and other department leads.
Salary:
Your salary will be based on 45.5 hours per week and be £40k per annum. Tronc surplus will be on top.
