Restaurant Supervisor Englands Grace

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Supervisor to join our team in managing daily operations and maintaining exceptional service standards. This role bridges the gap between senior management and front-of-house staff while ensuring smooth service delivery and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management

Oversee daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures

Monitor dining areas and service points to ensure compliance with Food Standards Agency regulations

Maintain stock levels and liaise with kitchen staff regarding menu availability

Ensure adherence to food hygiene regulations and Health & Safety protocols

Implement and maintain quality control standards for food and beverage service

Complete due diligence documentation as required by EHO standards

Staff Leadership

Supervise and mentor front-of-house staff, including waiting staff, hosts, and bar staff

Create staff rotas ensuring appropriate coverage during peak trading periods

Conduct team briefings and training sessions

Support the recruitment process and conduct staff inductions

Participate in performance reviews and disciplinary procedures

Provide on-the-job training and development opportunities

Create a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and excellence

Customer Service

Maintain floor presence during service to ensure guest satisfaction

Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally and effectively

Monitor table management and waiting times during busy periods

Manage bookings and special events coordination

Build rapport with regular customers

Support implementation of allergen awareness procedures

Administrative Duties

Assist in managing wage costs and rota planning within budget

Monitor KPIs and sales data to identify areas for improvement

Maintain accurate records of incidents and resolutions

Support menu development and pricing strategies

Help implement marketing initiatives and promotional events

Ensure compliance with company policies and UK employment law

Required Qualifications:

Education & Experience

Minimum 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including Maths and English

Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership desirable

Minimum 2-3 years' experience in hospitality, including supervisory experience

Level 2 Food Safety Certificate desirable

First Aid qualification advantageous

Skills & Abilities

Proven leadership and team management skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Proficient in EPOS systems and Microsoft Office applications

Strong problem-solving capabilities

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Basic understanding of P&L and budget management

Good organisational and time management skills

Working Conditions

Full-time position, 40-48 hours per week

Split shifts may be required
