Are you passionate about food and looking for a dynamic role in a vibrant school environment? We are seeking a dedicated and innovative School Catering Manager to lead our catering services, ensuring high-quality food and exceptional service for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service Excellence: Oversee the main hall break and lunch service, sixth form café, hospitality, and ad hoc events. Ensure all food is presented and served to the highest standards, using innovative methods and styles.
  • People Management: Lead and develop a team of up to 25, including supervisors, chefs, café and events managers, and catering assistants. Foster a supportive and empowering environment with an open-door policy.
  • Financial Management: Maximize income through effective purchasing and creative merchandising. Manage budgets and costs efficiently.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food safety legislation and procedures.

Experience & Skills:

  • Proven experience in managing an in-house catering function, serving around 1,000 covers per day.
  • Experience in organizing catering for events of up to 120 people.
  • Strong negotiation skills with food suppliers.

Desirable:

  • Alcohol license,
  • Experience running an onsite café,
  • Creating menus from scratch,
  • Handling EHO audits.
  • Ability to motivate a team and maintain a customer service-oriented attitude.
  • Calm under pressure with quick decision-making skills.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings.
