Duty Manager, Museum, West London, Part Time Temporary Role, £17 per hour plus holiday pay accrual

Our client a world-renowned Museum based in West London requires a Duty Manager. This role requires you to be available for the following dates, 4.30pm - 8.30pm; 9 November, 16 November, 23 November, 30 November, 7 December, 14 December, 21 December, 28 December, 4 January.

The main duties of the Duty Manager role are:

  • Follow opening and closing procedures working closely with other key delivery teams
  • Compile the daily planner for Visitor Experience Assistants and ensure that all essential positions are staffed
  • Deliver formal and informal 1-2-1 discussions with permanent visitor experience assistants
  • Confidently lead health and safely, emergency and business continuity procedures as part of the museum wide response team
  • Plan and deliver motivating and informative daily briefings to assistants, enabling the team to deliver the best service to visitors
  • Coordinate additional visitor related programmes or events, working collaboratively with activity leaders, events managers and the facilities team
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with exhibitions displays and equipment used by the department
  • Any additional duties which are required by the museum’s exhibition or event, changing operational processes or updated procedures following briefing or appropriate training

Skills and experience required :

  • Supervisory experience in museum environment.
  • Working in a busy customer orientated retail environment.
  • Strong communication skills and excellent customer service skills.
  • A passion for providing good customer service.
  • The ability to work as part of a team, in a team leader capacity.
  • Visual merchandising experience.
  • A knowledge of, and interest in, design would be a distinct advantage
