We are seeking a dedicated Head Porter to lead and manage our portering team at a prestigious University in West Central London. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively delegate tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the University’s facilities.

Day to day of the role:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the portering team, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Delegate jobs to team members, taking into account individual strengths and workload to optimise performance.
  • Act as the first point of contact for any issues or queries related to portering services.
  • Ensure that all team members are fully trained and adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with other departments to facilitate events, moves, and other activities requiring portering services.
  • Monitor the condition of equipment and facilities, reporting any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of tasks and schedules.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a portering or facilities management role, preferably within an educational environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
