A specialist manufacturing consultancy with strong partnerships in the defence, aerospace, nuclear and automotive sectors is seeking a Business Development Manager to focus on developing both new business and existing customers in the UK South East region. This is a permanent role offering excellent remuneration and career development as part of a thriving group.

The Role
The Business Development Manager will identity and capture new sales opportunities in addition to development of customer relationships with ongoing and previously lapsed customers. You will play a pivotal role in managing customer relationships and meeting the exciting growth plan and targets set for the business in 2025.
Key functions of the role include sales and promotion of the business’ technical capability, this organisation has start of the art machinery and as such as at a massive advantage in the marketplace to win business from the defence and nuclear sectors.
You will support customer delivery and build strong, repeat business relationships with customers interacting with them through a variety of methods such as visits, phone calls, trade shows, events, and conferences.
The Business Development Manager will travel to customer sites regularly to demonstrate value proposition and engage with prospective stakeholders, giving both technically and commercially sound guidance to customers.
The Person
The successful candidate for the Business Development Manager position will be an experience and enthusiastic business developer from the engineering solutions arena with experience within subcontract manufacturing and engineering advisory services.
You will possess solid knowledge of mechanical engineering and manufacturing process and whilst not required to design the solutions, the ability to read and interpret technical specifications is highly valued for this role.
The Business Development Manager will be comfortable with developing new business with key suppliers in the defence, aerospace, nuclear and automotive sectors and possess both an excellent sales history and the analytical and commercial toolkit to assess and identify good business propositions.
This is a regional based role with expected travel to the parent company headquarters approximately one day per week.
