Location: Tower Hamlets 

Start Date: September 2024

Salary: £25,412 - £26,586 per annum 

Our client, an Ofsted rated "Good" mixed-sex secondary school and sixth Form, located in the Borough of Tower Hamlets, are looking for a Sciecne Technician to join the team from September 2024. This position has personal responsibility for an area of the technician service with a particular, but not exclusive emphasis to A level Physics and Integrated Science to Years 7 to 11.

Responsibilities: 

  • To coordinate the use of practical resources and provide assistance and advice in the practical needs of the science curriculum, including liaising with teaching staff.
  • To be responsible for the deployment of 4 technicians ensuring that essential performance standards are achieved.
  • To contribute to the design, development and maintenance of specialist resources and offer professional guidance to support students and teachers on the practical aspects of the curriculum.
  • To work closely with the Curriculum Leader in Science in regard to changes to the National Curriculum.

Requirements:

  • A passion for Science and a genuine interest in supporting students' development.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
