Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily running of the science prep room, including the management of equipment and materials across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

  • Lead and support a team of science technicians, ensuring smooth delivery of practical science lessons.

  • Prepare and set up equipment for practical experiments in line with the curriculum.

  • Ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times, maintaining a safe working environment.

  • Liaise with teaching staff to support the development and delivery of engaging science lessons.

  • Manage stock levels, ordering supplies as necessary, and keeping accurate inventories.

  • Maintain and service equipment, reporting and arranging for repairs where required.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Senior or Lead Science Technician in a school environment is essential.

  • Strong understanding of health & safety protocols in a laboratory setting.

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

  • Confident in supporting a busy science department across all disciplines.

  • A valid, enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service is essential.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
