We are working alongside a secondary school located in the vibrant and diverse community of South West London, prides itself on fostering a nurturing environment where students thrive academically, socially, and spiritually. They are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Religious Education (RE) Teacher to join them in January 2025!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and dynamic RE lessons to students aged 11-18.
  • Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the curriculum, encouraging critical thinking and reflection.
  • Foster an inclusive and respectful classroom environment that celebrates diversity and promotes understanding of world religions and ethical perspectives.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular learning opportunities.
  • Participate in school events, assemblies, and extracurricular activities related to RE or pastoral care.
  • Uphold the school's values and ethos, contributing positively to the wider school community.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialization in Religious Education or a related subject.
  • A degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Education, or a relevant discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of the RE curriculum and the ability to teach to GCSE and A-Level standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for inspiring young learners.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people (successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check).
  • Previous experience teaching RE is desirable but not essential; newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply.
