Job Title: Field Service EngineerSalary: £33,000-£36,000Hours: Mon-Thurs: 8:30am-5:30pm Fri: 8:30am-3:30pmLocation: LondonJob Description:Syntech Recruitment is currently working with a leading power solutions provider, seeking a Field Service Engineer to support their operations across various client sites. This hands-on role involves maintaining and servicing power equipment, including generators, ensuring reliable operation for clients across various sites. You’ll work closely with the Depot Foreman to meet daily engineering requirements, primarily in the field with some yard-based duties as needed.About the Role:We’re looking for a Field Service Engineer who excels at diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues in generators. In this role, your technical skills and commitment to excellent customer service will be vital to delivering reliable power solutions and ensuring customer satisfaction.Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform all servicing and maintenance on generators both on-site and at the depot
  • Diagnose and repair faults, including control panel issues and AC/DC electrical systems
  • Conduct mechanical and electrical repairs and genset synchronisation
  • Participate in an on-call rota, including Bank Holidays
  • Engage directly with customers, maintaining a high level of service
  • Complete all equipment maintenance paperwork, including service and PDI sheets
  • Ensure daily roadworthiness of the company vehicle through defect reporting
  • Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines at all times
Skills and Experience:
  • NVQ in Plant Maintenance or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in the generator or plant hire industry
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads
  • Full UK driving licence, held for a minimum of 3 years
  • Capability to work both independently and within a team
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to providing high service standards
  • Forklift licence preferred (training available if required)
