Become a Learning Support Assistant at our Lewisham Primary School, part of a small Education Trust with 4 other local schools.
Salary: £85 - £100 per day
Hours: 37.5 hours per week; 8.30am -4.00pm Monday to Friday
Contract: Long Term Contract; Term Time Only
We are a community school where learning together is seen as a very important part of the education we offer. The school building is traditionally designed and dates from the turn of the century. Each group of children or class has its own classroom. Our site is fully accessible and most classes have direct access to outdoors. All classes have access to shared spaces around the building such as resources areas or learning zones, our two large hall spaces, our music and dance room and our outdoor learning spaces.
The aim of the site is to provide enough support to unlock each pupils potential so they can live fulfilling and productive lives. We provide young people with as much freedom as possible in a safe and supervised environment. This is achievable due to the dedication and support from a range of employed professionals who are passionate, reliable, and understanding.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will connect directly with the brilliant pupils we care for, helping to make sure they get the very best from their education. Each individual has so much potential, and they will rely on you to guide their learning journeys.
You will help prepare learning materials and run classroom activities, with plenty of hands-on experience and some supervision too. You will take responsibility for their emotional and physical needs, supporting them to develop as individuals and engage with the world.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for candidates with experience of supporting children in schools or working with SEN children. We will provide you with full training and development to succeed within your role.
You will be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to individual need. Taking a responsive and caring approach, you may be running classroom activities, leading outdoor experiences or supervising pupils as they explore further afield. Our schools are built on great teamwork and mutual support.
We are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. You will have a safeguarding responsibility if appointed. The successful candidate will be subject to enhanced clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and employment will be subject to references.This post is not exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
