A supportive mainstream primary school in Tooting is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Learning Support Assistant to join their team two days per week (Thursdays and Fridays) to support a pupil in Year 4 with special educational needs (SEN).



Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 SEN support to a pupil in Year 4, assisting with their learning and emotional needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow the pupil's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Encourage engagement, participation, and independence in learning tasks.
  • Support the pupil with behaviour management, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
  • Ensure the pupil feels safe, supported, and included in classroom activities.


Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous SEN experience is essential, particularly supporting children with additional needs in a primary school setting.
  • A patient, proactive, and empathetic approach to supporting pupils.
  • Ability to build a strong, supportive relationship with the pupil and wider school team.
  • Comfortable working two full days (Thursdays and Fridays) on a long-term basis.
