Learning Support Assistant

A welcoming primary school in Deptford with a dedicated SEN Unit is seeking a skilled Learning Support Assistant to work with primary-aged pupils across mixed age groups. The role involves providing essential support to children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), helping them thrive academically and socially in a structured and nurturing environment.

• Provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with ASC in the SEN Unit.
• Collaborate with teachers and specialists to deliver individualised learning and behaviour plans.
• Encourage emotional regulation and social engagement through a calm and patient approach.
• Assist with daily activities, ensuring pupils feel supported and included in their learning.

• Experience as a Learning Support Assistant, particularly working with children with Autism or similar additional needs.
• Confident in managing behaviours linked to ASC and skilled at creating a positive and supportive environment.
• Flexible and adaptable, able to meet the diverse needs of pupils in a mixed-age setting.
• Holds an Enhanced DBS or is willing to undergo the process through Reeson Education.
