Mental Health Recovery Support Worker £28,700 Queens Road, Peckham
Dinardo Care and Supports Ltd provide an extensive supported housing service for a large number of adults with wide ranging mental health needs across South London covering Catford, Lewisham, Peckham, Norwood and Croydon.
The company has ambitions expansion plans over the next 12 months and as a result we have new opportunities for Mental Health Recovery Support Workers at our new service based in Peckham, South London. You will form part of an established, committed team who make a vital contribution to the effectiveness of our operation, which places the wellbeing of our residents at the heart of everything we do.
Hours of work: 7am – 3pm, 9am – 5pm and 2pm – 10pm – 37.5 hours with 30 mins unpaid break
Salary: £28,700 per annum
About the role of Mental Health Recovery Support Worker:
· Form part of the Service Delivery Team working closely with the Unit Team Leader and Group Manager.
· To provide a high quality, effective, responsive and resident focused support service to address the presenting needs of our residents.
· Responsible for leading and supporting on a case load for allocated residents to include comprehensive personal needs and risk assessments to form their individual support plans.
· Ensure support plans are SMART and evidence continual progress and incorporate regular evidenced reviews and monitoring.
· A support and guidance approach which is engaging, empathetic and flexible tailored to each individual’s required goals and outcomes.
· Work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders at all levels particularly in respect of external support services if required to support their needs.
· Complete onward referrals to identified move-on accommodation and support residents to achieve these goals
· Accompany residents to appointments if support is required
· Attendance of meetings and sharing of updates, outstanding issues and lessons learnt.
· Carry out premises inspections
· Involvement in community activity
· Work alongside our Support Assistants to offer coaching and guidance, whilst they also support you, our residents and team.
About you:
· Experience and understanding of the issues faced by people who are homeless or vulnerably housed.
· Tenacity and professional, positive approach to ensure continuous results are achieved.
· Case holder management
· Able to find solutions in challenging situations.
· Good communication skills – written, verbal and IT.
· Ability to write factual, concise and accurate reports.
· Knowledge of safeguarding principles and procedures
· If you understand Strengths-based practice, Psychologically Informed Environments PIE, Stages of change model or trauma-informed principles this would be an advantage.
· Adhere to company policies and procedures

· Demonstrable knowledge of current Housing legislation, welfare benefit legislation and other regulations relevant to support and resettlement of residents.
· Flexibility to travel to other units if required by the business.

· Empathic and kind, coupled with the ability to be firm and set boundaries as required
· The role is subject to Enhanced DBS – Disclosure and Barring Service (Criminal Record check).
