Role: SEND Support Worker

Salary / Rate:  £95 – £110 a day

Location: Hackney

Milk Education are seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring SEND Support worker to work in one of our partner Special Schools in Hackney.

This school caters to students aged 4-19 with autism spectrum conditions (ASC) and sever learning difficulties. The role will include supporting students with their communication skills and increase independence through engaging activities and a class structure. The successful candidate will support the class teacher to personalise each student’s learning journey to fit their individual sensory, behaviour, communication, medical and learning needs.

SEND Support Worker responsibilities:

  • Experienced working with students who have Special Educational Needs
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proactive in supporting adaptations within the learning environment
  • Excellent organisational and IT skills
  • Assist teachers in preparing resources or intervention supports
  • Be aware of and support difference and ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop

SEND Support Worker must haves:

  • Ambitious and committed individual who wants to learn and be the best they can be.
  • Hardworking staff who give 100% and will go the extra mile to make a difference in pupil’s lives.
  • The ability to work under the guidance of the teacher as well as part of a team
  • Be aware of and comply with school policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
