We are seeking a Secondary Special Needs Assistant to join a vibrant and nurturing secondary special needs school in Croydon, London. Key Details:Special Needs Assistant
- Start Date: September 2025
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- Contract: Fixed term for one academic year (with potential to transition to permanent staff)
- Pay: 400 to 600 per week (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Responsibilities:Special Needs Assistant
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with autism and complex needs
- Assist in delivering tailored learning activities and life skills development
- Support students in managing sensory, communication, and behavioural challenges
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure each student progresses
- Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:Special Needs Assistant
- Experience working with children or young people with autism and complex needs
- Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting diverse learners
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive, resilient, and adaptable attitude
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
Desirable:Special Needs Assistant
- Knowledge of autism-specific strategies, such as TEACCH, PECS, or sensory integration techniques
- Experience in a special needs school or educational setting
