We are currently working in partnership with a multiple-award winning charity in East London who are looking for a permanent Support Worker to join their team.

This is a permanent, full-time position paying up to £32,240 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with clients at risk of homelessness, including refugees/asylum seekers, and assisting them with their personal development.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Looking after a caseload of clients at risk of homelessness, including refugees/asylum seekers
  • Providing practical and emotional support, helping clients to find sustainable work and accommodation to prevent homelessness
  • Carrying out 1-2-1 keywork sessions
  • Creating tailored support plans and risk assessments
  • Taking a positive, trauma-based approach to working with clients presenting complex needs

Skills/experience required:

  • Experience working with asylum seekers/refugees, including knowledge of immigration systems
  • Understanding of cultural sensitivities and language barriers

Working hours:

  • 37.5 per week, predominantly Monday-Friday with some odd weekend work
