Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Youth Engagement Officer for a Local Authority Client based in East London.

In this role, you will design, coordinate, and deliver a range of participatory programs and initiatives that empower young people to actively engage in their communities and make their voices heard within the borough.

About the role:

You will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives:

  • Develop and coordinate youth engagement programs, such as the Care Council, Young Carers sessions, and Youth Inspections.
  • Deliver group activities, workshops, and events that promote youth participation and leadership.
  • Use youth work principles to empower young people in designing, planning, and evaluating their participation activities.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe and inclusive environments for all activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of program activities, attendance, and progress towards youth development goals.

About you:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

  • Experience in developing and delivering youth-focused programs, workshops, or activities.
  • Experience in facilitating group work, personal development activities, and leadership programs for young people.
  • Proven track record of working with young people from diverse backgrounds in a community, school, or youth centre setting.
  • Demonstrated experience advocating for young people's rights, particularly those facing challenges or vulnerabilities.

What's on offer:

Salary: £18+ph

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6, months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
