Independent Domestic Violence Advocate

13.81 per hour

Based in and around London



Job Responsibilities:


  • Manage high-risk domestic violence cases, conducting risk assessments and creating safety plans.
  • Provide practical and emotional support to survivors, focusing on legal advice, housing needs, and tenancy support.
  • Work with external agencies, such as police, health services, and schools, to ensure coordinated support for survivors.
  • Lead and participate in Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) to protect survivors and their children.
  • Maintain accurate case records, ensuring compliance with safeguarding and data protection policies.
  • Provide court support, including preparation for hearings and trials.


Job Requirements:


  • Strong knowledge of domestic violence support, criminal justice processes, and legal remedies.
  • Experience in case management and multi-agency collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to advocate for survivors.
  • Understanding of safeguarding issues and the ability to act appropriately.
  • Experience using case management systems and completing thorough documentation.
  • Commitment to supporting vulnerable groups, including LGBTQ+ and disabled individuals.
