We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) to join our team and provide specialist support to those at the highest risk of harm.

About the Role

As an IDVA, you will play a crucial role in supporting survivors, reducing risk, and ensuring their voices are heard. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-quality, trauma-informed support and advocacy to survivors of domestic abuse.
  • Conducting comprehensive risk assessments using the DASH (Domestic Abuse, Stalking, and Honour-Based Violence) framework.
  • Developing and implementing tailored safety and support plans.
  • Advocating for survivors within multi-agency settings, including MARAC (Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences).
  • Working in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure the best outcomes for survivors.
  • Keeping accurate records and ensuring compliance with safeguarding and confidentiality protocols.
About You

We are looking for a dedicated and proactive individual who brings:

  • Experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse, ideally in an IDVA or similar advocacy role.
  • A strong understanding of domestic abuse legislation, safeguarding procedures, and multi-agency frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills, with the ability to represent survivors' voices effectively.
  • Confidence in handling sensitive and complex situations while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • IDVA qualification (SafeLives or equivalent) or a willingness to work towards it.

This role is open to women only under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1.
