Young Women's Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA)

Location: North London (Hybrid)Salary: £27,716 Pro Rata Hours: 2 days - 14 hoursContract: 5 month FTC We are seeking a dedicated Young Women's IDVA to provide specialist 1:1 advocacy and support for young women and girls aged 11-25 who have experienced domestic abuse and violence.

About the Role

The IDVA will:

  • Provide direct support to young survivors, offering both emotional and practical assistance.
  • Advocate on their behalf in key settings, including police stations, courts, and social care.
  • Conduct risk assessments, develop safety plans, and offer long-term support for up to 18 months.
  • Work flexibly, meeting young women in safe community spaces, schools, or their homes.
About You

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience in domestic abuse advocacy (an IDVA, ISVA, or YPVA qualification is preferred).
  • Understand the specific challenges faced by young women experiencing abuse.
  • Be skilled in building trusted relationships and advocating for survivors.
  • Have strong safeguarding knowledge and experience.
