Location: North London (Hybrid) Salary: £15-20 per hour (depending on experience)Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm (5 days a week) Contract: Temp - 2 month contractWe are seeking a dedicated Young Women's IDVA to provide specialist 1:1 advocacy and support for young women and girls aged 11-25 who have experienced domestic abuse and violence.
About the RoleThe IDVA will:
- Provide direct support to young survivors, offering both emotional and practical assistance.
- Advocate on their behalf in key settings, including police stations, courts, and social care.
- Conduct risk assessments, develop safety plans, and offer long-term support for up to 18 months.
- Work flexibly, meeting young women in safe community spaces, schools, or their homes.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience in domestic abuse advocacy (an IDVA, ISVA, or YPVA qualification is preferred).
- Understand the specific challenges faced by young women experiencing abuse.
- Be skilled in building trusted relationships and advocating for survivors.
- Have strong safeguarding knowledge and experience.
- A low caseload (up to 10 young people) to enable focused, high-quality support.
- A flexible and holistic approach to support, ranging from crisis intervention to long-term development.
- A supportive team environment, with access to training, wellbeing benefits, and a 4-day working week policy.
