Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Housing Choice Administrator for our client a local government organisation in Southwark, London.

The successful post holder will providing basic admin assistance to housing choice officers, main duties will be inbox management, creating and maintaining spread sheets, data entry, co-ordinating a panel by sending information to be reviewed and then updating system with panel outcome - occasionally providing basic advice and signposting to other services.

This is initially a 3 month contract with the possibility to extend after that date. This role is hybrid working, with 3 days in the office.

Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Provide a customer focused service that has regard to the Equalities Act 2010.
  • Assist vulnerable households to access the choice based lettings scheme with ease and to work closely with partner agencies to achieve this.
  • Assisting applicants with the different stages of the application process.
  • Use a variety of reports to feedback on progress.
  • Develop the choice based lettings scheme through the development of procedures and online content.
  • Quality assure the work of the applications team to promote best practice and consistent ways of working.
  • Answer correspondence within corporate timescales.
  • Coordinate the annual review of the Housing register, ensuring data is kept up to date.

Personal Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the legislation regarding a local authority’s lettings schemes and homelessness, including code of guidance and case law.
  • Knowledge of Equalities legislation and good practice and its application in relation to housing services.
  • Experience of maintaining electronic computer records in line with GDPR.
  • Experience of service delivery to members of the public preferably those in housing need.

Working Hours: 36hrs / 9:00am - 17:00pm / Monday to Friday

Pay: £20.92 p/h

Please note this role is within the scope of IR35.
