This is a great opportunity for a Children's Residential Home Manager who is passionate about making a difference and providing a high level of care.

You will be an integral part of a brand-new residential service provision at our Abbey Wood, SE2 residency and will play a vital role in the home's set-up, OFSTED registration and ongoing future.

Our Abbey Wood Residency opens its doors in November 2024. The wider team is in place and the successful applicant will initially be responsible for being the lead contact for the homes OFSTED registration, as well as the day-to-day running of the home. The home has excellent facilities to aid working with children and young people with Social, Emotional, Behavioural Difficulties and Learning Disabilities.

You will play a pivotal part in bringing the best out of each young person within your care whilst enhancing their social, practical, and emotional skills in preparation for their adult years. As the new Residential Children's Homes Manager, you will mainly be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Children's Home, including providing professional support, guidance, and supervision to the staff team.

Alongside this, you will be regularly monitoring and reviewing the policies and procedures of the service and updating where necessary to keep in line with the regulations. You will have the overall budgetary responsibility for the home and be directly reporting to the director.

To be successful in your application, you must be able to demonstrate knowledge of regulatory and legislative frameworks, as well as OFSTED benchmarking and inspection requirements.

Responsibilities of the Residential Manager include:

Lead contact for OFSTED registration.

The Manager will ensure young people receive excellent emotional and physical care levels within a home that offers a safe, nurturing, and comfortable environment with a supportive staff team.

To lead and manage both employees and resources to ensure high service standards are achieved within the home, exceeding regulatory standards.

To manage the home's budget and ensure the business remains viable and meet and exceed the key performance indicators for people, quality, and performance.

To take overall responsibility for the management and leadership of the Children's Home as the Residential Manager in charge, promoting high standards of care in line with our regulatory bodies.

Ensure referrals and occupancy are updated regularly and maintained.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge around Children's homes regulations and implementation throughout the processes of the home.

Requirements of the Registered Manager include:

Effectively lead a team of staff to enable the highest quality of care.

Minimum 2 years strong experience working as a Manager/Deputy Manager in a children's home.

Reflective staff supervision, managerial and communication skills

Excellent Ofsted regulatory knowledge

Ensure support and guidance within all Ofsted inspections.

Will need to become registered with Ofsted.

At least 2 years' experience in a senior or management role (This must include experience conducting supervisions with staff)

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (Preferred)
