Team Manager, Leaving Care Service, Greater London Pertemps is seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead our Leaving Care Service. This role is crucial in ensuring that young people transitioning from care receive the support, guidance, and resources they need to thrive into adulthood. The successful candidate will have strong Leaving Care experience and a track record of working in a Good or Outstanding Borough.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of Personal Advisors and Social Workers supporting care leavers.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality pathway planning in line with statutory duties.
  • Promote independent living skills, education, employment, and wellbeing support for care leavers.
  • Maintain high practice standards and ensure compliance with Children & Social Work Act 2017 and Leaving Care statutory guidance.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop staff to drive performance and best practice.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to enhance opportunities for young people.
  • Monitor and assess service delivery, ensuring young people receive timely and effective interventions.
  • Support young people with housing, financial support, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Provide strategic leadership to enhance outcomes for care-experienced young adults.
Key Requirements:
  • Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Extensive Leaving Care experience in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in Good or Outstanding Boroughs.
  • Strong leadership, management, and performance oversight skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Leaving Care legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Ability to manage budgets, resources, and multi-agency partnerships.
  • Excellent communication, mentoring, and problem-solving abilities.
