A Student Support Worker is needed in a Mixed Secondary School & Sixth Form in East London.

The start date for this Student Support Worker role will be Monday the 24th of February.

This Student Support Worker post will be full time and long term, with scope to go permanent.

If appointed as a Student Support Worker, you will be required to support a Year 7 male pupil with Down's Syndrome and Severe Autism, on a 1:1 basis.

Duties for this Student Support Worker position will include but not be limited to; working towards meeting the targets on the pupil's EHCP, creating a positive atmosphere for the pupil and working together with the wider SEN Team to effectively adapt to different situations.

Experience of having worked with Primary aged SEN pupils will be very advantageous for this Student Support Worker post but is not essential in order to be considered.

The rates of pay this Student Support Worker role will range from £90 to £120 a day, depending on the experiences and qualifications of each applicant.

The School

There is currently no Ofsted rating for the school, as it has only recently opened.

A heavy focus is placed on Grammar at the school.

Students are entered in to GCSE and EPQ qualifications.

From Year 7 to Year 11, all pupils learn the 3 Core Sciences, English, Maths, Ethics and Sports.

At 6th Form level, all pupils must take up a Maths and Science course. They must then choose two more subjects from Philosophy, Economics, Humanities, Latin, English Literature or Art. The reason for this is because the school wants to produce future scientists, medics and engineers.

Currently the school is split across two different sites that fall in two neighbouring boroughs, with one acting as the main site for lower school and the other acting as the upper school site.

Requirements
