Youth Practitioner (Outreach)

Hours: 14:00 - 20:30 (Evenings and occasional weekends)

Are you passionate about supporting young people and making a real difference in their lives? We are looking for a dedicated Youth Practitioner (Outreach) to engage with young people aged 11-25 who may be at risk of violence, gang activity, or offending.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outreach and detached youth work in the community and youth hubs.
  • Support young people to develop personally and socially through informal education.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with young people, helping them access support services.
  • Deliver group and individual interventions to reduce risks of school exclusion and entry into the criminal justice system.
  • Work in partnership with local authorities, health, and voluntary sector organisations to provide holistic support.
  • Encourage and facilitate parental and carer involvement in interventions.
  • Keep accurate and timely records of engagements and progress.
  • Work flexibly, primarily in the evenings and occasional weekends, to meet the needs of young people.

What We're Looking For:

  • Essential:
  • Experience working with young people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of adolescent development, outreach work, early help, and safeguarding.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to working unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • A Level 2/3 qualification in youth and community work (or willingness to achieve within 12 months).
  • Desirable:
  • Experience delivering groupwork to young people and parents.
