Youth Practitioner (Outreach)
Hours: 14:00 - 20:30 (Evenings and occasional weekends)
Are you passionate about supporting young people and making a real difference in their lives? We are looking for a dedicated Youth Practitioner (Outreach) to engage with young people aged 11-25 who may be at risk of violence, gang activity, or offending.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver outreach and detached youth work in the community and youth hubs.
- Support young people to develop personally and socially through informal education.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with young people, helping them access support services.
- Deliver group and individual interventions to reduce risks of school exclusion and entry into the criminal justice system.
- Work in partnership with local authorities, health, and voluntary sector organisations to provide holistic support.
- Encourage and facilitate parental and carer involvement in interventions.
- Keep accurate and timely records of engagements and progress.
- Work flexibly, primarily in the evenings and occasional weekends, to meet the needs of young people.
What We're Looking For:
- Essential:
- Experience working with young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of adolescent development, outreach work, early help, and safeguarding.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to working unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends.
- A Level 2/3 qualification in youth and community work (or willingness to achieve within 12 months).
- Desirable:
- Experience delivering groupwork to young people and parents.
