Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor ready to take on a senior role? Our client, a reputable construction firm, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage a significant social housing repairs and maintenance contract with Southwark Council. This position is based in their Bermondsey office, with regular site visits within the borough.
  
Your Role – Key Responsibilities
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will:
  • Oversee the commercial management of the Southwark Council contract, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Lead the procurement process, including tendering and appointing subcontractors.
  • Manage cost control and valuations, providing accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders, including council representatives and residents, to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing.

Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably within the social housing sector.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a proven track record of managing budgets and delivering projects within financial constraints.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to navigate complex challenges effectively.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field, and professional membership (e.g., RICS) is desirable.
