Ryder Reid Legal is recruiting for a skilled Desktop Applications Engineer to join one of our global law firm clients on a permanent basis at their London office. The ideal candidate would be a dedicated professional to manage and provide 3rd level support for the firm's essential tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expert Troubleshooting: Resolve complex application and document issues, often working directly with users.
  • Training & Documentation: Develop training materials and documentation to improve front-line support and first-call resolution.
  • Product Testing: Conduct initial product testing and create test scripts for the QA team.
  • Scripting & Automation: Use scripting and automation to deploy software, gather system data, and resolve issues on a large scale.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Understand business challenges and requirements, representing these needs to vendors.
  • Industry Research: Stay updated on best practices and application trends in the legal industry.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in engineering Windows desktops and supporting applications in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of SCCM, PowerShell, and software deployment technologies.
  • Ability to provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotating schedule, with quick response times.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends for system maintenance and support.

Technologies/Software:

  • Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and other document processing tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 systems management and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with software packaging and automation tools like Installshield and AutoIt.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SCCM and PowerShell.
