LTF Recruitment are currently working with a great positive, friendly, and vibrant Primary Academy in Brent, who are seeking an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant with Special needs support experience to join their school's dedicated support staff team. As an Early Years Teaching Assistant you will be working 1:1, supporting EYFS pupils with special educational needs and those who showcase challenging behaviour, helping them to engage and interact with their lessons and manage and overcome behavioural problems. The role is available for an asap start and will be full time for the remainder of the academic year, with the potential of a permanent position for the right candidate.

Main Duties will entail:

  • Working 1:1 with identified pupils to deliver bespoke support to children with special educational needs
  • Supervise and engage children in learning and play activities
  • Closely work with pupils who experience difficulties in the classroom and encouraging them to engage in the curriculum
  • Removing children from class when their behaviours are disruptive.
  • Adapting your support and approach according to needs of the children

It will be desirable for the candidate to:

  • Have knowledge of the Early Years curriculum
  • Be confident and calm when managing challenging behaviour
  • Have experience working with challenging behaviour.
  • Have a passion to support and engage children with a range of learning needs
  • Experience working with children in early years with SEN
  • Team Teach Qualification or equivalent is desirable
  • Be Patient, Resilient and be flexible in your approach
